Title Auckland Volcanic Cones Society Inc. v Transit New Zealand

Ref. Numbers A203/2002
Description This case, also involving the environmental group Greenbelt Inc., appealed a notice of requirement for a motorway extension because earthworks would alter the landform of the Mt Roskill volcanic cone. Waterway habitats were also an issue. The court found the designation necessary, consideration had been given to alternative routes. The appeal was dismissed with alterations to conditions of consent. A further appeal to the High Court (AP 123-SW02 31/03/02) was dismissed. Resource Management Bulletin: Dec 2002, p189-191.
