Resource Management Act: RMA Link: Sources of Assistance

The RMAlink project aims to make community participation in all Resource Management Act processes more straightforward and less time-consuming. More effective participation from those with a concern for the environment will contribute towards improving environmental outcomes nationwide.

Citizens Advice Bureaux

Citizens Advice Bureaux can often help with basic information on the RMA.

There are 87 Citizens Advice Bureaux throughout New Zealand, which means that they may be your most readily available source of advice and help on the RMA if you live in an isolated community. CABs overall receive almost 2000 enquiries a year relating to the RMA.

Every CAB should have basic information brochures and resources about the RMA. In larger centres, staff may have attended a training workshop on the RMA. If so, they will be more able to answer questions, or guide you to appropriate sources of information and specialist advice.
