Use existing networks and directories to find other groups with similar interests.

Other Environmental Directories


The RMAlink directory focuses on groups who participate in RMA processes, but there are other directories of New Zealand environment groups that have a wider focus. Try the following sites:

Description: Greenpages, a nationwide listing of environment groups.

Site: www.manawa.org.nz
Description: Manawa, a network of environmental care groups in the Auckland region.

Site: www.environment.org.nz
Description: Directory of environment groups, mostly in Canterbury. Hosted by Christchurch Environment Centre.


Community Group Directories


Most Councils compile a Community Group Directory. Larger councils make these available online. Look for environmental groups, residents and ratepayers groups, local iwi, outdoor recreation groups. Enquire at your local library, or visit your council's website. Find council websites through www.lgnz.co.nz

Many parts of New Zealand now have a local community net site. These are a link for all kinds of groups, including residents and environment groups.
