About RMAlink

Welcome to RMAlink. This site is brought to you by ECO, The Environment and Conservation Organisations of New Zealand (Inc.) with assistance from the Ministry for the Environment's RMA Education and Advisory Fund.

The Purpose of RMAlink

The RMAlink project aims to make community participation in all Resource Management Act processes more straightforward and less time-consuming. More effective participation from those with a concern for the environment will contribute towards improving environmental outcomes nationwide.

To achieve this, RMAlink brings you;

  • The Groups Directory - a nationwide listing of environmental and community groups with an interest in the RMA. The aim of the directory is to encourage networking amongst environmental groups so that skills, experience and information can be easily shared.

  • RMA Information Database - an extensive directory of printed information and web-based resources. This simplifies research by bringing relevant information about all aspects of resource management and RMA processes together in one place.

  • Other information and contacts that will help you to write submissions, and access funding and professional services.

In compiling the information directory, ECO has taken full advantage of the excellent resources provided by a number of other non-profit environmental organizations, including the Environmental Defence Society, the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand, and the New Zealand Planning Institute.

This site will assist communities, tangata whenua, citizen groups and individuals - anyone with a public interest in conservation and the environment.

Effective community participation at all levels promotes the sustainable management of New Zealandís natural and physical resources. This is the overall purpose of the Resource Management Act.
